Rule 84
Academic session, admission time and working days

(1) The academic session of the school will start from Baisakh 1st and continue till the end of Chaitra. However, if there is a need to change the academic session due to an epidemic or other such disaster or extreme Himalayan region, the Ministry can change the academic session. Explanation: For the purposes of this rule, "Bikat Himalayan Mustang" means the Himalayan area where schools cannot be operated regularly.
(2) The school should generally admit new students within one month from the date of commencement of the academic session.
(3) If a student comes to be enrolled without delaying the period as per sub-rule (2), when the school examines the level of study of such a student, if it is found that he/she can enroll in that class and pass the annual examination, such student can be admitted for another one month.
(4) No one shall admit students before the commencement of the academic session.
(5) Working days in one academic session of the school shall be at least two hundred and twenty days.
(6) Community school teachers should take at least twenty-four period classes in a week.
(7) Schools that have completed the physical infrastructure may conduct classes in more than one shift (shift) on the same day based on the number of students so as not to fall within the prescribed curriculum.
